Although primarily a contra dance band, Joyride has enjoyed playing other types of gigs as well. We’ve done concerts, weddings, private parties, led tune teaching and jam sessions. If you would like to hire Joyride, please write to us using the button at the bottom of this page and include the following information so we can make an informed decision with regard to whether we’re available and interested in taking the gig.

==> Specifically, when (date and time) is the gig and what is its duration?
==> Have you hired a sound system and operator or do you have such a person in mind? Our stage map and sound needs are here. If you don’t have a sound system/operator, we can provide suggestions and contact information, but the contact/hiring of system and operator is your responsibility.
==> We’re a piano band; do you have a piano or keyboard that can be run through the sound system? Piano needs are described here.
==> What sort of gig is it? Concert, background music, dance with a caller, wedding, private party, jam or tune teaching. If a dance with a caller, we can provide suggestions and contact information, but the contact/hiring of caller is your responsibility.
==> Once we have that information we can check our availability and interest in doing your gig and we can then negotiate a fee and travel compensation (if outside the Portland metro area).
